My Background
I’ve been designing and building web sites, working with computers and printing projects for over 25 years. Starting off way back before computers were in the work place and artwork was produced on the drawing board and in the darkroom. Today any of my spare time is soaked up absorbing the latest trends and the best practices in web design, colour theory, typography, marketing, social media, mobile device technology, and website construction.
Following in my Father’s foot steps I went to Guildford Technical College in the late 1970’s where I went onto receive an HND in Design for Printing. There were no computers but I had a unique training with hot metal lead type, traditional book binding, photography and process photography. Soon after the early version of Photoshop arrived and I adapted my traditional print room skills.
Building my experience I worked for Artwoker Ltd suppliers of graphic and fine art materials where I managed a fleet of 4 vehicles providing daily deliveries in south London to graphic designers, photographers and fine artists.
Then moving on to manageress of a busy high street printer the daily work involved A3 Offset litho printing with Xerox multi page printer/collators. Plus large format A2 colour printer and print finishing machinery.
In 1984 I continued my work as a freelancer in design and artwork for printing, exhibitions and sign writing, supplying traditional marker visuals and finished presentation visuals.
This work evolved into web site design, management of domain names and hosting.
